This was prompted by one of the barn owls I work with-- during a presentation, when I wasn't quick enough to call her to the glove, she spontaneously decided to land on my shoulder-- talons and all. It was Not Pleasant.
I would imagine that having a bird five times larger than a barn owl suddenly land on your shoulder would be a bit of a problem, magic or no magic!
